CONNECTING WITH THE CLIENT
After years working on the delivery side of content and PR, I was thrust into a much more client-facing role once I took the plunge and opened my own agency, Fall of Man, in 2017. As the only UK-based member of the leadership team (with an entirely anglophone staff who needed London-based clients), I had to take sole responsibility for bringing in new business and, by extension, paying everyone’s rent.
My delivery background allowed me to reassure clients from across the industry spectrum without jargon or sales-speak. I knew the work, I knew the schedule, I knew exactly what would make the client sleep easily at night. As a result, heading up creative, sales and liaison, I developed a client list that included Knight Frank, MUFG Bank and the Markettiers Group, all in the first 12 months of operation. In our first financial year, I generated more than £300k turnover from a standing start with cohesive, penetrative PR, marketing and brand campaigns.
